One more. We're currently seeking a senior-level Oracle Applications DBA. This senior-level position is responsible for the design, installation, administration, maintenance and implementation of the data architecture, database systems and middle-tier applications required to support Oracle Applications versions 10.7 to 11i. In this role, you will act as a primary support contact to application owners and support personnel, project teams, and others on issues related to Oracle databases and the Oracle Applications technology stack. Specific responsibilities include:
• Day-to-day operation of Oracle databases and Oracle Applications environments (Production and Development)
• 24/7 monitoring of external customers through the use of world-class monitoring systems and customized scripts
• Pro-active checks to ensure database and system health
• Providing support for customer issues through the use of our web-based ticketing system
• Advice management on applications implementations, upgrades and general maintenance
• Performing database and applications version-to-version upgrade and patches
• System refreshes and applications instance cloning
• Ensuring the optimal operation of the concurrent manager and its concurrent processes
• Designing, testing and implementing databases along with large database capacity planning, performance tuning, resource monitoring (disk space utilization, CPU utilization, etc) and security
• Performing large database reorganizations and index management (rebuilding, structuring/optimization)
• Database and system issues troubleshooting and working with Oracle Support
• Administering database users, permissions, and database security
• Managing applications security and data access privileges, including password maintenance
• Ensuring recoverability by implementing, monitoring, and maintaining database backups
• Proactive management of database and file systems for growth of tables, indexes and log files
• Unix administration
Required Skills/Experience:
• experience with Oracle Applications (ERP). At least 2+ years of 11i experience
• Installation and configuration of Oracle Applications Rel 11i including self service modules
• experience with Sun Solaris and HP-UX
• Strong knowledge about the Oracle Apps Rel 11i architecture and various components - Forms Server, Reports Server, HTTP Server
• Knowledge of Networking - Sockets, HTTP mode, HHTP-S (3 different modes), Net8 (SqlNet)
• Experience applying Oracle Application patches and instance cloning
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related
• Expert knowledge of PL/SQL (stored procedures, triggers)
• A solid understanding of design principles (physical and logical) and architecture, and knowledge of programming tasks through HTML, JavaScript, Shell scripts, CGI or Java is preferred
• Upgrade of Applications and Database experience. Patch application and troubleshooting. Experience with Apache Web Server and WedDB Oracle DB experience, performance tuning, troubleshooting, Backup etc. Monitoring processes and identifies run-away jobs and fixing them
• Must have excellent written and communication skills and be team oriented 2500$
