Есть два диска
старый на /dev/hda ST340014A (ata-100)
и новый на /dev/hdb SAMSUNG SP1213N (ata-133)
Ось RedHat 9,kernel-2.4.20-43.9.legacy.athlon.rpm
Мать GA-7VRX, АТА-133 должна поддерживать.
Измерил скорость винтов через hdparm -t и вылезли интересные результаты:

/dev/hda1: 64 MB in 1.16 seconds = 55.17 MB/sec
/dev/hda2: 64 MB in 1.21 seconds = 52.89 MB/sec
/dev/hda3: 64 MB in 1.48 seconds = 43.24 MB/sec
/dev/hda4:
/dev/hda5: 64 MB in 1.28 seconds = 50.00 MB/sec
/dev/hda6: 64 MB in 1.36 seconds = 47.06 MB/sec
/dev/hda7: 64 MB in 1.33 seconds = 48.12 MB/sec
/dev/hda8: 64 MB in 1.34 seconds = 47.76 MB/sec
/dev/hda9: 64 MB in 1.73 seconds = 36.99 MB/sec
