APPLICATION DEVELOPER (JAVA)

“APLANA Software” - member of Russia’s top high-tech group – I.T.Co. (development and integration of software systems according to customer requirements) would like to present the position of Application developer (java):
Candidates' requirements:
- Experience and working knowledge in the following Java (J2EE and J2SE) and Javascript
- Experience with XML, n-tier development/Web development environment and HTML and other Web-based application development tools and environments;
- Abroad background with other systems (i.e. legacy and client server systems such as Unix family and Windows/NT) and Web application server experience including BEA Weblogic, & IBM Webspere;
- Working knowledge of DB2 UDB 3E and at least one other RDBMS (i.e. Oracle, Sybase, ) with database/Web connectivity familiarity;
- SQL skills, plus database management and file access methods;
- Knowledge of networking and security requirements in building applications;
- Data modeling experience with UML and object-oriented programming techniques;
- Strong programming skills and design skills are desirable
- Superior communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Russian
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients in meeting their business objectives by providing professional services and solutions;
- Code, test and implement complex programs from user specifications;
- Develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards;
- Support and troubleshoot production systems as required to optimize performance, resolving production problems and providing timely follow-up on problem reports;
- Develop programs in accordance with system architecture requirements;
- Resolve technical issues;
- Code and debug moderate and complex application modules and programs;
- Perform unit and acceptance testing for client training and documentation.

Candidates' requirements:
- Knowledge in each specific area: analysis, architecture, design, build, conversion, documentation, testing, training and transition;
- Solid understanding of the technologies in use: Java (J2EE/SE); DB2 UDB 3E; BI tools (prefer a least 2 of: Cognos, BO, Crystal Reports, Brio, Microstrategy);
- Understands the SDLC, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, and testing methodologies
- Superior verbal and written communication skills in English and Russian;
