Lead QA (in Dublin)

Responsibilities

Manage & coach a strong team of software development engineers in test (SDETs) to own the end to end quality assurance of our MSN channels. Lead change within the testing function to stay abreast of advancements in test methodologies. Define, implement and continuously update the quality assurance strategy aligning tools, automation and an outsourcing model into the system. Contribute as part of a Leadership team with the Development Manager and Group Program Manager to drive overall vision and strategy across all functions of the team. Drive quality and reduce defects by ensuring quality is achieved before code is written and quality bars are defined at the earliest opportunity. Foster a strong collaboration environment where your team works in an integrated way with development and Program Management in line with Agile methodologies. Build strong relationships with other peer teams across Microsoft to maintain Engineering Excellent standards.

Requirements

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience. 8+ years relevant work experience in software development. At least 5 years People Management experience. Proven skills around Testing Methodologies and Test plan management. Solid understanding of performance and stress testing. Proven experience in managing Test Automation using .NET technologies. Proven track record of hiring and retaining a strong technical team. Desirable Requirements: Experience working in an agile development environment. Experience in web technologies (e.g. IIS, ASP.Net, DHTML, AJAX etc…).Experience managing budgets and finance
