The Live Search team is hiring extremely talented, highly motivated and productive Software Development Engineers. The goal of Live Search is to deliver the most relevant internet search to our customers by building the best search engine worldwide including for Russian market. To achieve this goal, data mining/machine learning/statistics/IR/linguistics/ natural language processing /database techniques are critical. We build the components that predict in a fraction of a second which of our several billion web documents will best answer a user's query. It is one of the highest impact and most technically challenging techniques in the computer industry.

Qualifications:

• Background in one or multiple of the following areas is required: data mining, machine learning, statistics, natural languages, computational linguistics, information retrieval, information theory, communications, pattern recognition, anomaly detection, systems and networking, parallel and distributed computing, user modeling
  
• Strong theory/algorithm background and very good understanding on how to apply advanced knowledge to solve real problems
  
• Ability to work independently and in a team to research innovative solutions to challenging business/technical problems
  
• Extensive software design and development skills/experience with C/C++/C#/Perl/SQL
  
• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in computer science or related field
  

Conditions:

• Relocation to Redmond, WA upon receiving H1-B visa or other form of authorization for employment in the United States
  
• In a case of a possible delay in employment authorization, relocation to Vancouver, BC, Canada
